True Friendship

This September marks my 19th year of being best friends with Jordan. Our mothers are best friends, but I can only really remember starting to hang out with him at age 4, when we went to preschool together. He's at the other end of the country right now for school, and I miss him dearly. There is not a single day that goes by that I don't have a single thought of him and that I don't miss him. There are days I miss him more than others though, and today was one of them. For some reason, today I missed him so much that I started to cry like a baby. On days like today, I refer back to what he wrote to me one of the first few days we were apart after he left (October of last year). Even though it's personal to the both of us, I don't mind sharing it at all. I want the world to see what an amazing guy he is and how big and beautiful his heart is as well. This is what he said...
"...because it's more than a friendship. We can be ourselves around each other and respect each other effortlessly. It's easy for us to always be honest and never judgmental. It's not a relationship...it's a place in between friends and lovers that only we understand. We just get each other. It always was, always is, and always will be."
Jordan has been my constant in life. I honestly would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for him. He has taught me so much, and he has no idea how much he means to me. He's the only person in the entire world that knows me inside and out, and that I have such a strong connection with. Nothing is ever going to break it. Honestly, I think he's my soul mate. We're so much alike. We finish each other's sentences, and we don't even have to try. It's effortless. It's just always been that way. It's hard to find a true friend in this world, but he's mine.

An Afternoon At The Park

My best friend and I.
Today started out as a pretty normal day. My family and I decided to go to our house to finish cleaning it out before the new people move in. There's still one day left of it. Not that we're messy people, but just the constant travelling in and out while moving (in the rain, I might add), we didn't have time to clean. It's just minor cleaning that we have to do anyway.

When we got home, I got a text from my best friend to come hang out with her. My brother (who is also good friends with her) tagged along as well because he was bored. To make a long story short, we ended up going down to her father's house and hanging out with her brother as well.

We're very fortunate in our town. There are many parks, and they're all pretty well kept, even with all the college and university students around who always tend to get drunk and reckless (but that's a story for another day).

We decided to go to one of the parks since we didn't want to spend the whole afternoon inside a house. It's amazing how much good it did to go. My brother and I have been under a lot of stress lately because of the move, so just letting loose really helped. We went back to being kids: swinging, monkey bars, sliding, etc.  I haven't laughed so much in such a long time!

The picture I included was taken today during our time at the park. As stated, it's of my best friend and I. We've been best friends for about 6 or so years, but it's the first picture we took of just us two. We've had many pictures taken of us, but always with other people. I honestly don't know what I would do or where I would be without her.

Time flies! The last 5 months...

First of all, wow. It's been 5 months. Ridiculous. I can't even explain why it's been so long. The semester at school was pretty darn crazy. That's still no excuse for not writing in here, but hey.

So during the last five months, I completed my first year of college, with all my classes except 2 being in the high 80s and 90s.  By the time the semester was over, I had every intention of writing. However, my family ended up moving out to the town my school is in, and so I moved back in with them, and just recently got my internet back up. I've actually missed blogging so much.

Starting on June 2nd, I'm going to be taking an English class at school so my workload next semester is going to be easier to manage. Instead of 8 classes, I'll have 7.

I wanted you guys to know that I'm still around, and I intend to write frequently in here, but not every day. Maybe once or twice a week, that's to be decided.
